Northern Nevada HOPES announced the promotion of four members of the nonprofit health center’s team: Mandi Larsen, Chief Development Officer, Malynda Calkins, MS, PA-C, Medical Director, Gar Gutman, MPH, Director of Data Analytics, and Mary Ingvoldstad, MPA, Director of Communications.

 

“HOPES is continuously seeking ways to improve our patient-centered care and develop staff with the ability to execute new and improved processes. The recent internal promotions encompass HOPES’ commitment to our patients and staff,” said Sharon Chamberlain, Chief Executive Officer at Northern Nevada HOPES.

 

As Chief Development Officer, Larsen will focus on the long-term sustainability of the organization and diversifying revenue streams. As a member of the executive team, she will ensure HOPES has a strategic focus on fund development, creating a culture of philanthropy and recruiting ambassadors throughout our community for HOPES’ important work. Larsen will continue to oversee the communications and brand awareness needs of HOPES.

 

Larsen brings nearly 15 years of experience in non-profit management and major gift development and joined HOPES in 2019. Larsen created and implemented HOPES’ first development plan, reshaped the organization’s philanthropy and communications team to best serve patients, partners and donors; which has allowed HOPES to grow brand awareness in Nevada and beyond. Larsen has been responsible for diversifying HOPES’ funding sources for long-term sustainability and growth.

 

As the Medical Director, Calkins will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of HOPES’ primary care programs while ensuring the agency’s mission of patient-centered and integrated healthcare are provided with dignity to our underserved community members.

 

Calkins has been a Physician Assistant (PA) with HOPES for six years and has experience as a PA in pain management and chronic disease management over the past 12 years. She graduated from University of Nevada, Reno with a major in psychology and a minor in gerontology.  She then went on to PA school at University of Washington, MEDEX Northwest.

 

As the Director of Data Analytics, Gautam will be responsible for leading the data department and providing strategic, data-driven insight to the leadership team on ways to maximize the organization’s growth through a shared approach to data analytics, data management, and data strategy.

 

Gautam joined HOPES in 2016 as a Data Scientist. He has worked with all facets of the organization to help increase access to services and improve the quality of care delivered to HOPES’ patients. He’s created a data focused environment within the agency, so HOPES can make informed decisions in a timely manner.

 

As the Director of Communications, Ingvoldstad will expand HOPES’ brand awareness, create strategic initiatives to increase patient recruitment, staff recruitment and donations to the organization, ensuring its long-term sustainability and success.

 

Ingvoldstad joined HOPES in 2017 as the Commutations Coordinator where she worked closely with each department, implementing internal communications, expanding external communication and marketing efforts to increase brand awareness throughout the region.
