Biography:
Karina Castro began practicing medicine in 2024 and is board-certified by NCCPA. Growing up in a Hispanic household and experiencing being uninsured for most of her life, Karina understands the challenges faced by the medically underserved population. As a bilingual healthcare provider, she takes pride in giving back to her community by meeting patients where they are in their health journey and working with them to improve their health and meet their goals. Karina finds fulfillment in providing care in Spanish, witnessing the gratitude of patients receiving care in their own language.
Karina joined HOPES because it aligned with her personal values of giving back to her community. Having grown up in Reno, she was drawn to the organization’s commitment to serving the community. Her positive experiences during rotations at HOPES during her school training reinforced her decision to join. Karina appreciates the down-to-earth atmosphere at HOPES and feels privileged to work in a place that takes such good care of people.
Personal Interests:
Outside of her professional life, Karina enjoys roller-skating, embroidery, reading, and kickboxing.
