National Immunization Awareness Month

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Did you know vaccines have prevented many infectious diseases and associated deaths? Vaccines not only help the person receiving them but those who are around them through herd immunity. Vaccines continue to control past and present infectious diseases.

According to the CDC, COVID-19 disrupted both in-person learning and routine well-child visits
for many children over the last year.

Now is a great time to check-in with your HOPES care team and make sure your child(ren) is up-to-date on recommend vaccines. HOPES is also accepting new pediatric patients – pediatric patients do not need to schedule appointments through the adult “open access” system – appointments are available in about one week!

You can learn more about the recommended childhood vaccine schedule here and get your questions about vaccines answered here.
